Findhorn, Nairn and Lossie Rivers Trust
The River Lossie has a catchment of over 216km2 and flows 52km (31miles) to join the Moray Firth at Lossiemouth. Mean daily flow for the Lossie is 2.7m3s-1. The Lhanbryde Burn and Spynie Canal are also part of the catchment.
In the Lossie catchment the predominantly land uses are agriculture, and forestry. The agriculture increases in intensity as the river approaches the sea. Large sections of the river and its tributaries have been significantly modified over the years.
