New Leadership from Spring 2025

Findhorn, Nairn and Lossie Rivers Trust

PUBLISHED: 09/01/25

The Trustees of the Findhorn, Nairn and Lossie Rivers Trust are delighted to announce that they have appointed Elle Adams to lead the organisation into its next phase as Executive Director.

Elle approached the Trust in early 2022 with the concept for what would soon become the Findhorn Watershed Initiative. Since then, she has secured £2 million of funding for building a team and overseeing the delivery of this new flagship catchment scale nature restoration partnership.

Elle has demonstrated strong vision, leadership and strategic development skills, as well as a deep commitment to the conservation of our local rivers and wildlife. Elle said:

“As we enter the second half of the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration and strive towards meeting Scotland’s 2030 and 2045 climate and biodiversity targets, I can’t think of a more compelling way to be of service to our local wildlife and communities than leading the dedicated team at the Rivers Trust in the vital work of building climate resilience and restoring biodiversity of our home watersheds at a landscape-scale.”

“I am grateful to the FNLRT Trustees for the support and trust they have shown in offering me this appointment, and I look forward to working closely together with all of the Trust’s key stakeholders and partners towards our shared ambitions over the months and years to come.”

Elle will step into the new role from the 1st April 2025, with a handover period between Elle and retiring Director Bob Laughton during the first 3 months of the year.
